What is a Nintendo Network ID?
A Nintendo Network ID (NNID) is created and used on a Wii U and/or Nintendo 3DS family system. NNIDs are used for online features (such as online multiplayer or interactions) and for purchasing downloadable software through Nintendo eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Only a single email address can be linked to one Nintendo Account. If the email address you have entered is already registered, it cannot be used again. Alternatively, this can occur if you are trying to sign in with a Nintendo Network ID.
Create user accounts for each person who will play on Nintendo Switch. Choose an icon and a nickname for all users. As a rule, games store save data by user account. If you share your console with your family, create a user for each person.
(Data on the microSD card will not be deleted.) Any Nintendo Accounts linked to the console will not be deleted, but they will be unlinked from the system. After initializing the console, you can create a new user and link to it your Nintendo Account.
If you don't have access to your registered email address, you won't be able to change the email address yourself and will have to contact Nintendo customer support.
A Nintendo Network ID is used to access various online features on the Wii U console or a system in the Nintendo 3DS family. Currently, you can create a Nintendo Network ID using either a Wii U console or a system in the Nintendo 3DS family. A Nintendo Account is different from a Nintendo Network ID.
It is not possible to combine multiple Nintendo Accounts together, or to add additional members to a Nintendo Account (including the My Nintendo service). Anyone wishing to create a Nintendo Account and/or join the My Nintendo service will need to create a new account.
A Nintendo Network ID can be linked to one Wii U and one system in the Nintendo 3DS family. This means that it can be created on a Wii U and then linked to a Nintendo 3DS, or vice versa.
You can have as many as you like and you can log in to your Nintendo Account to play games.
Please note that you can link up to 8 Nintendo Accounts to a single Nintendo Switch console. Games that you've purchased are playable by everyone on the active Nintendo Switch console for your Nintendo Account. You may find information about moving your Nintendo Account (and purchases) between consoles, helpful.
Can you transfer Nintendo Account to another person?
Can I Change Ownership of My Nintendo Account or Nintendo Network ID? No. Per the Nintendo Account User Agreement and Nintendo Network Services Agreement , your Nintendo Account and/or Nintendo Network ID (NNID) cannot be transferred or sold to another person.
